Overview

Role Overview: The Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Design) specializes in designing detail parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities: Conduct research, create layouts, prepare engineering drawings, and coordinate design activities with various teams to ensure cost-effective solutions that meet requirements. Lead design efforts for aircraft modifications, incorporate stakeholder feedback, review and approve design packages, and utilize advanced 3D CAD tools. Ensure designs support aircraft modifications, track project schedules and budgets, and work within aircraft production environments.

Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of aerospace mechanical design experience or a graduate degree with 4+ years; or 10+ years related experience without a degree. Proficiency in CAD software (NX/Unigraphics, ProE, Catia), knowledge of aircraft systems and structural repairs, strong communication skills, and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance are required.

Additional Notes: Candidates should be US citizens and adaptable to work on flight lines and aircraft environments. Preferred candidates may hold an active Secret clearance.
